Bringin' it on Home
It’s been a while! I am updating now to let you know about the video(s) I posted below.
At the school I work at there are all school assemblies three times a week. They are called Morning Exercises (or MX). When the school was in its early phases, the whole student body would get together and do physical exercise together three times a week. Now this time is used by the school to help...

A brief look at my summer. Enjoy!
Morocco
Editor’s Note: At Casey’s request (lest anyone think pirates have finally struck) Andrew Humphries, who visited Mr. Hudetz in Morocco at the tail end of his own trip to Europe, will be guest blogging on Morocco.
Discount airlines delivered me to Northern Africa and Casey Hudetz greeted me. Pushing aside the throngs of native Moroccans awaiting the returns of loved ones from holidays...
This is a short film I co-wrote and co-directed for the first annual Short Film Festival. Enjoy!
My time in Morocco. Thanks to Andrew for making the trip out!
Approved Blog Entry for Egypt #081584
Greetings from the Great Lands of Egypt!
Everything here in Egypt is great! I saw all of the great treasures that Egypt has to offer and thorougly enjoyed myself!
The sun here was very welcoming and not at all oppressive!
Also, the drivers here are safe and use their horns very judiciously!
Thank you for reading and be sure to visit Egypt as soon as you can!

Board of Tourism Censorship, Egypt
The Chief Censorship Officer was leaning back in his chair after a long day of scouring the web when there was a knock at the door. He straightened his tie, removed his feet from the top of a few unread memos that lay scattered across his desk and shouted “Enter” to his closed office door.
In walked a newly hired member of the Organization for Tourism Censorship (an agency designed...

If This Country Could Talk
To help me recount my time in Bulgaria, I thought I would employ the help of a variety of voices. Let’s see if we can piece together an adequate look at my 4 days in this far off land.
From the Varna guide book I received on a tour at Euxinograd:
“The Bulgarian women, it is generally acknowledged, are beautiful and of substance.” (p. 25)
“It is worth smoking Bulgarian...

Turkish Delight
Upon arriving in Istanbul, I visited the world famous fortune telling rabbit hoping to get some advice on what to do while in town. This is what he told me:
**Sniff** **Sniff** “You want buy rug? Good price. 40 Lira.”
After I unsuccessfully got the price down to 25, he had to be restrained from trying to hop off of his box. It was not exactly the authentic Turkish experience I...
So much fun.
Elementary, My Dear Hudetz
The fog over London was as thick and foreboding as ever. I had come to the Baker Street office early to continue my research into the Austrian dignitary’s blackmail case only to discover Sherlock Holmes already at his writing desk with a cup of coffee and his pipe, scrutinizing a series of objects with his magnifying glass.
“Watson, I’m glad you’re here,” he said to me. “I have an idea that I...

Bok! Kako Si?
Thumbs up! How are you doing? Let me explain the band-aid:
While in Croatia I was able to be quite active. Luckily for me, I was traveling with my friend and co-worker Stephanie who happens to be a nurse. This is lucky because, as it turns out, I am a complete and hopeless klutz (I believe my past travel partner Eric can attest to this). Here are the injuries I sustained in...

No Matter What, Don't Kiss the Donkey
Ciao! Come Stai?
Italy! Pasta! Machismo! Exaggerated hand gestures while speaking! Living with your mother until you turn 40! The Mafia! I witnessed some of these stereotypical behaviors (and many more!) over the past 5 days.
My trip began by taking a train from our port city, Civitavecchia (chi-vit-a-vech-ee-ya), into Rome. We had to walk a little ways to find the train and, in the...

Spain
¡Hola! ¿Qué tal?
This photo on the left I took in Seville. It is the central part of a triptych which praises and pays homage to the patron saint of Navigation. Her guiding hand and spirit is what brought great wealth to the country of Spain (through the explorations and new trade routes made possible by people such as Columbus and Amerigo Vespucci—both seen in the painting bowing with...
My time in Spain. I will update in writing soon!
Crossing the Atlantic
Ahoy!
How are we doing? It has been a while since I’ve posted anything. Seeing as we just pulled into Spain, I can only write a little bit. Here it goes:
The first week at sea so far was challenging and exciting and beautiful and intense all at the same time. The first few days of orientation were just a flurry of information that I tried to master (but easily forgot half of). From...
I promise I will write something soon.
Just a quick little movie/slideshow of my time so far in Boston & Halifax. I hope you like it.
Orientation (so far).
Hey There!
Not much to report back just yet. I am meeting lots of academics and counselors and a variety of other members of the shipboard community and, like the beginnings of all of these sorts of trips, everyone is nice and on their best behavior.
I was able to get into the city of Boston the last two days and it was a really beautiful place. The Boston Commons was a wonderful green space...
